Dartmoor Tors

There are at least 150 Tors on Dartmoor. They were formed about 280 million years ago as the granite cooled and solidified from molten rock. Over many years the rock which was above the granite eroded away gradually, until eventually the granite became exposed to reveal the Tors we see today.

The highest Tor is High Willhays, at 2,040 feet, followed by Yes Tor which is 2,030 feet high.
